ZoneAlarm by ZoneLabs is an excellent firewall and is a FREE download for individuals. I had some difficulty when I tried it using AOL, however it does rate highly in a recent PC World review. Another firewall that is equally effective as ZoneAlarm if not more is BlackICE Defender. This one costs around $40 but is well worth it. You can download it from the manufacturer's website or you can purchase the software at various computer stores. I have tested this one and it's fantastic.
